When to go: Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are the best time for trekking. In winter (December, January, February) trekkers can enjoy some alone time and avoid the crowd but weather can be considerably severe for most trekkers. In Summer and Monsoon (June to August) trekking can be inconvenient for trekkers due to rainfall but summer trek can be a blessing for avid botanist.

Are you ready for some ultimate Himalayan adventure?? Annapurna Base camp trek is one of the most captivating treks in Annapurna region, a miscellany of natural spectacle, Himalayan vistas and cultural diversity which trekkers can experience to their fullest. Starting from terraced plain green paddy fields and making your way up through the rocky trails, beautiful bamboo, rhododendron and oak forest and 3300 stone steps at ulleri. Picturesque landscapes, quaint views of Machhapuchre, Annapurna, Hiunchuli, and Dhaulagiri from poon hill at ghorepani. The fantastic hospitality of gurungs at ghandruk, admiring the Machhapuchre Base Camp and each step taken inching you towards the world of mesmerizing Himalayan amphitheater of immense Annapurna massif, trekkers will be enthralled throughout the whole trek. Annapurna is the 10th highest mountain in the world and was first summited in June 1950 by a French expedition led by Maurice Herzog. There is also a site of 1970 British expedition in the Annapurna Base Camp. The fantastic garland of Himalayas (Annapurna South, Bharha Chuli (Fang), Annapurna 1 (8091 meters), Gangapurna, Annapurna 3 and Annapurna 5 with each in elevation of more than 7000 meters except machhapuchhre (6997 meters) provides a breathtaking view. Trekkers can also enjoy the occasional sightings of fox, leopard and Himalayan weasels around Annapurna Base camp area. The locale of Annapurna Base Camp is quite peculiar and in spite of the great elevation of the massif, ice walls and glacier basins the valley floor between 12,000 and 14,000 ft. can provide comfortable camping sites for trekkers. Upon the return from Annapurna base camp trekkers are due for one last treat, the hot springs of jhinudada ,where trekkers can rest there deserving tired feet’s before heading towards the end of this spectacular journey.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01:Kathmandu, Elevation: (1310m/4298ft). Welcome assistance at the Tribhuvan International Airport and transfer to hotel. Rest at the hotel for some time and after that our staff will brief you regarding about the trip. Overnight at hotel
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara, Elevation: (910m/2986ft.) by tourist bus. Duration: Driving for 6 hours, O/N at Hotel
Day 03: Drive to Nayapul (New Bridge) for an hour and trek to Tikhedhungga, Elevation: (1495m/4905ft). Duration: Walking for 3:30 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 04: Tikhedhungga to Ghorepani, Elevation: (2850m/9350ft). Duration: Walking for around 5:30 hours, overnight at guest house
Day 05: Ghorepani to Poon Hill to Tadapani, Elevation: (2520m/8268ft). Duration: Walking for around 6:30 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 06: Tadapani to Sinuwa, Elevation: (2310m/7579ft). Duration: Walking for around 6 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 07: Sinuwa to Deurali, Elevation: (3150m/10335ft). Duration: Walking for around 6 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 08: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp, Elevation: (4090m/13418ft). Duration: Walking for around 4:30 hours, overnight at guest house
Day 09: Annapurna base camp to Dobhan, Elevation: (2600m/8580). Duration: Walking for around 5:30 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 10: Dobhan to Chhomrong, Elevation: (2310m/6994ft). Duration: Walking for around 5:30 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 11: Chhomrong to Ghandruk, Elevation: (1940m/6365ft). Duration: Walking for around 4:30 hours, overnight at guest house.
Day 12: Trek from Ghandruk to Nayapul; then drive to Pokhara, Elevation: (910m/2986ft). Duration: Walking for 4:30 hours and drive for an hour. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 13: Drive back from Pokhara to Katmandu by tourist bus. Duration: 6 hours driving. Overnight at Hotel
Day 14: After breakfast transfer to the airport for departure.
Note:Above itinerary can be designed with your preferences. Please let us know whether you would like to make your trekking period shorter or longer. If you would like to have itinerary of more than 14 days, you can make city tour in Kathmandu, rafting, jungle safari or Everest mountain flight. We are happy to follow your suggestion accordingly.
Detail Itinerary
Day 01: Arrival at Kathmandu and transfer to Hotel.
This day is your arrival day in Kathmandu and our team will welcome you at the Airport. We will receive you from Tribhuvan International Airport and drop you to your Hotel. Later, we will be briefing you about our trek and the next day we leave for our destination early morning.
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara by bus, Duration: 5 to 6 hours
Early morning today, we drive for Pokhara on a tourist bus. Upon reaching Pokhara, we stroll around the lakeside and enjoy the moments on the City of Lake, Pokhara.
Day 03: Drive to NayaPul by car, Duration: (1 hour) to begin trek. Arrive in Tikhedhunga, Elevation: 1540 meters, Duration: (4 hours)
Driving our way to Nayapul to begin our trek, we pass by the charming nature around us. Then, we start trekking all the way to Tikhedhunga along the trekking trails eyeing on the specialties of the region.
Day 04: Trek from Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani, Elevation: (2858 approx.)
The Annapurna South (7273m) and the Hiunchuli gradually unfold on this pleasant walk uphill through fields and pastures and later through rhododendrons and oak woods. Ghorepani was originally a horse watering post, which has evolved into an important crossroads for tourists.
Day 05: Ghorepani (early morning hike to PoonHill for sunrise) to Tadapani, Elevation: (1190 meters)
We leave early morning for Poon Hill, to catch the early morning sunlight on the panorama of peaks: Dhaulaghiri, Annapurnas, Machhapuchare… This is an option but really worth the while. We then retrace our steps to Ghorepani and continue towards Tadapani through rhododendron woods.
Day 06: Tadapani to Sinuwa, Elevation: (2360m).
The trail gently ascends through a subtropical forest highlighted by huge bamboo massifs and giant rhododendrons. The pleasant walk will ahead will take us to Sinuwa.
Day 07: Sinuwa to Deurali, Elevation: (3200m).
From Sinuwa, we ascend through the trails for Deurali. Accompanied by the wonderful glimpses of Himalayas, we climb to Deurali. We pass by an abandoned settlement called, Kuldhigar and Bamboo Forests. Following the way along Modi River, we reach Deurali.
Day 08: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp, Elevation: (4130m).
Climbing uphill from Deurali, we reach our main destination of the trek, Annapurna Base Camp and enter the Annapurna Sanctuary. You would be able to eye on the Annapurna ranges, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna III, Hiunchuli, Gandharvachuli and Gangapurna. As we reach the base camp, you will be witnessing the Annapurna South right in front of you and a 360 degree panorama of Annapurna Ranges.
Day 09: Annapurna base camp to Dovan, Elevation: (2520 meters)
After marking victory to our main destination, we then trek back to Dovan as we descend along the way.
Day 10: Trek to Chhomrong, Elevation:(2170m).
From Dovan, we retrace our journey back to Chhomrong. Descending through the trails, we reach Chhomrong.
Day 11: Chhomrong to Ghandrunk, Elevation: (1940m).
Having breakfast in the morning, we move for Ghandruk visiting the hot spring at Jhinudanda. Also, we pass through the Landruk village where houses are white washed. With few ups and down, we finally arrive at Ghandruk, an appealing village of Gurung people.
Day 12: Ghandrunk to NayaPul; then drive to Pokhara, Elevation: (820 meter), Duration: 1 hour
We trek for Nayapul to reach Pokhara today. Upon arriving at Nayapul, we drive for Pokhara and stroll around in Pokhara.
Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus.
Early morning, we catch a tourist bus and drive all our way to Kathmandu observing the hill stations of Nepal and mountain views. We enjoy our last day on the Thamel streets.
Day 14: After breakfast transfer to the Airport for departure.
This day, we bid farewell to each other as your trekking ends here. We will drop you to Airport and you will departure to your destination.
