Thimpu, the capital Bhutan itself has a numerous monasteries and historic sites that reflect the ancient mysticism and culture. The architecture really holds the tale of this long unknown mystic land. On this tour we will visit the memorial Chortern of the Late King Jigme Dorje Wangchuk in the heart of Thimpu . The Tashichhodzong also known as “The Fortress of the Auspicious Religion” is another highlight of thimpu and displays a marvelous architecture. We will also stroll downtown to the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays a variety of spectacular Bhutanese handicrafts. Moving on from Thimpu towards paro, tourists can find a large number of monasteries and also enjoy some scenic beauty of Jhomolhari Mountain (The Mountain of the Goddess) (7314 m.) on a clear day. Around paro, we will also visit the National Museum located in the Ta Dzong which displays a rich collection of fine arts and weapons. The main highlight of this tour is the Taktsang monastery also known as “The tiger’s nest” which holds an enchanting presence making this tour all the more magical and mystical.

Itinerary Detail
Day 1:Fly to Paro and drive to Thimpu (65 Km /2 hrs.)Drive to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 2: Full day sightseeing in Thimpu. Visit the memorial Chortern of the Late King Jigme Dorje Wangchuk in the heart of Thimpu and The Tashichhodzong, “The Fortress of the Auspicious Religion.” On the evening we Stroll downtown to the Handicraft Development Corporation which displays a variety of Bhutanese handicrafts. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3: Thimpu- Paro (65 Km/ 2 hrs.) After breakfast drive leisurely to Paro. Drive through the Paro Valley to see the Drukgyel Dzong/ Kyichu Lhakhang. On a clear day one can see the white domed majestic Jhomolhari Mountain (The Mountain of the Goddess) (7314 m.) We will also visit the National Museum located in the Ta Dzong Which displays a rich collection of fine arts and weapons. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4: Paro: Excursion to Taktsang Lhakang.
After breakfast drive to Sartsham Chorten and then two hours of horse riding to the Taktsang cafeteria. After refreshment, we take a short trek to view the famous Taktsang Lhakhang (the “tigers nest”). After lunch we take a slow downhil trek to Sartsham Chorten, then drive to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Drive to airport for your flight or overland trip out of Bhutan
